Terminology

Materials
For this free pattern, I recommend using DK weight yarn with a 3.5mm sized hook. You can change the yarn and hook size according to what you prefer, I have a list of which hooks to use with what yarns here.
The DK yarn that I use is Stylecraft Special DK, however I have had similar success with brands such as Hayfield Bonus, Paintbox and King Cole Value.
Free Cherry Crochet Pattern
Body of the Cherry (make 2)
[Using red]
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring, or ch 2 and work 6 sc into 2nd ch from the hook (6)
Rnd 2: [Inc] x 6 (12)
Rnd 3-5: sc around (12)
Stuff the body
Rnd 6: [Dec] x 6 (6)
Finish stuffing and cut yarn, leaving a long tail.
Fasten off using the Drawstring Close:
Thread the tail through the front loop of each stitch, pull tight to close, tie off and pull the tail through to hide it.
Stem of the Cherries
[Using green]
Row 1: ch 10
Cut the yarn, leaving a tail.
Leaves of the Cherries (Make 2)
[Using green]
Row 1: ch 6, slst into the 2nd ch from the hook, sc, hdc, sc, slst, ch 1
Row 2: Working into the underside of the stitches: slst, sc, hdc, sc, slst
Finally, slst into your first stitch and cut the yarn leaving a short tail.
Thread the tails through to the middle of the leaf and cut short to hide.
Assembly
Sew one end of each stem onto a cherry and the other onto the leaf.
